Rightmove clocks up its 150th seminar

Rightmove’s member breakfast seminar series will reach a notable landmark this morning when the 150th seminar is delivered to member agents at Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester.

Around 140 sales and lettings agents from the Greater Manchester area are expected to attend the latest presentation of the Rightmove seminar series, which has now visited 103 separate locations around the country from Edinburgh in Scotland down to Truro in Cornwall. The breakfast seminars first hit the road in November 2008, and since then have delivered exclusive market insights and consumer trends to around 9,500 local agents and developers across the UK.

Rightmove director Miles Shipside comments:

“Rightmove seminars are a key part of how we work closely with agents and developers in order to help them gain a competitive edge in their local market and get the very best from their Rightmove membership. At each seminar we present the latest insights from our research with vendors, landlords, buyers and tenants in the local area, and discuss examples of best practice in terms of online marketing as well as some wider issues that can help members meet their customers’ expectations. Our job is to present our extensive research and encourage debate and discussion from those in the room around the findings and what they might mean for them.”

Rightmove seminars present exclusive and local research findings from more than 30,000 home-movers, alongside a mix of local market data and the latest consumer trends. The aim of each seminar is to help agents and developers to find a competitive edge in their market place and make the most of the leads and opportunities delivered by Rightmove. Seminar content is regularly reviewed in light of feedback from attendees and changing trends.

Each seminar kicks off around 8am with tea, coffee and bacon rolls served. Rightmove can reveal that red rather than brown sauce is the most popular bacon roll accompaniment for agents, with coffee very much the drink of choice at that time in the morning! Director Miles Shipside leads each seminar, and is joined by Rightmove researchers plus local Rightmove account managers from each area.

Shipside adds:

“It’s great to get out there and meet and talk to Rightmove members up and down the country on a regular basis. The conversations we have with agents and developers about their local market are both essential and fascinating for us and, in return, we hope we can demonstrate that Rightmove can play a valuable role in helping them stand out. Each seminar is also attended by a large team from Rightmove across a range of business units and the feedback suggests that our members enjoy the opportunity to engage with our team face to face on a wide range of topics.”
